MY CONNECTIONS to PLAY

"It is better to play than do nothing" by Confucius.

"Play is the beginning of knowledge" by Plato.

Growing up as I child I played with my brothers on the swing.  They will give me a push, and I used my legs to continue swinging back and forth. They would also push me around in the wagon, and many times they would put me in the wagon and push me down the hill to see how the wagon will go.

Coming up as a young child we did not have much.  I would go outside with my friends and play football with the boys and climb trees for fun.  Climbing trees help to increase my gross motor skills.  Many of the activities that I played helpd with gross motor skills.  However, I would play in the mun and pretend to make a mudcake or pretend to make pancakes out of mud.  As children we have a huge imagination.  I can't remember playing with manipulatives and learning colors and how to snap the objects together to increase my fine motor skills.  Although, in childcare ceenter now you tend to see it a lot.

Relationship Reflection

I have been in a relationship for over twenty years. My partner and I have four children together, all boys. We get along well and we know what each other want and need before asked. We communicate well with each other and we have a bond that I believe is unbreakable. We are planning a wedding for May 5, 2012.

My best friend(Joye) and I have known each other since September 1998. We go places together with our children, shopping, movies, and out to eat. We go bowling and have cookouts at each other house from time to time. We talk on the phone everyday, even though see has moved 100 miles away from where I live, we still communicate everyday. She will be home next week, so we are having a cookout/birthday party for her on March 17, 2012.

My relationship is very open with my children. I want them to be able to come and talk to me and let me know what is going on with them. If they are having problems at school I want them to communicate with and let me know what is wrong at school. I build trust with my children so that they feel comfortable telling me anything. My older boys 19, and 18 have more trouble with the girlfriends and are always wanting advice.

Building a relationship is important to me because it gives you the chance to get to know a person and they learn to open up and communicate with you on a daily basis. The relationship has to have TRUST. The bond will that you build in a relationship will encourage a person that you are there for them at all times.
